The Alzheimer’s Association recently initiated the Brain Health & Quality Care Initiative (BHQCI), a program intended to assist clinicians and health systems in integrating brain health and dementia care into routine clinical practice. This initiative seeks to standardize care for brain health and dementia through evidence-based clinical pathways and implementation resources.
Initial primary care efforts will address cognitive assessment, diagnostic evaluation, referrals, care transitions, and connections to ongoing support. Planned implementation tools, professional education, and quality improvement measures aim to reduce care fragmentation across diverse healthcare settings.
